We have some suggestions for your cycling trip in Amsterdam. We can go trough some must see areas or get more creative and get and glimpse of the countryside by visiting surrounding villages.

Amsterdam North

We would love to take you to the North part of Amsterdam. We will take a ferry to Amsterdam Noord. There we can visit new projects that are taking place in this completely different, spacious area in our city. There, we visit the NDSM, an old wharf which is reused now as an art and design hub, surrounded by nice cafes and restaurants (and even a hotel on top of a crane). We love showing you the EYE. On request we can visit the 3D Print Canal House (yes, they are printing a house!).

If we go by bike, it’s possible to cycle to the Nieuwedammerdijk, this is a dyke with very pretty surroundings. Even though it's near to the city center it's pretty quiet and green. On our way we can enjoy the water and the beautiful boats. We will cycle to Durgerdam. Because everything in Durgerdam occurs at a slow pace and in a homie manner, there is still present that unique feel of a centuries-old Waterland harbor village. This beautiful bike tour will take around 4 hours.

Bikes and Beer

Amsterdam is the city of bikes, this is our transport and our pleasure.! We also enjoy our beautiful terraces with a beer in the sun or the brown cafes in winter. And yes, we love our local breweries. During this tour we will show you the best of it! We also want to show you the most beautiful of Amsterdam! We will cycle the Canal Ring. There we will visit Arends nest. This is a bar focused on beer, they are not a brewery but they offer all the Dutch beers you want to know! It's a beautiful place (they went kind of famous since the people from U2 was having a drink there). We will go to the Dam to see the royal palace and other main buildings. Around the corner is the Beer Koning, this is a shop specialized on beer... incredible variety. When we go into the red light district, I guess you know this notorious area in Amsterdam, we like to focus not only on the sex and soft drugs offer, but some buildings around there are also very important (as the Waag and the Old Church) and the canals are the oldest in the city. We will pay a visit to De Prael, you will love this microbrewery. Best for last... We will go to the Brouwerij 't IJ. This is a microbrewery that makes great organic beer. The location is excellent, next to a stunning windmill called de Gooyer.

The ultimate Amsterdam cycling tour

As you might already know, Amsterdam is a compact city filled with intrepid cyclists. If you don't have much time in our city and want to know it all or if you like he adrenaline rush, this is a tour for you. In a few hours you will get an over all idea of the city. You will cycle along the canal ring, where the most important residential houses of the Golden Age are located. It’s the most beautiful area in town! You will get to see the most iconic sights of our city, as the Museum Square (where the Rijks and Van Gogh are located), the Dam square and of course, this visit can not miss a traditional Dutch windmill. But not everything is about flashy places. You will be delighted by the beauty of some laid back areas as the Jordaan. We love this area in Amsterdam. It's a residential neighborhood with beautiful old houses, cute canals and fairy tale bridges. There we really enjoy to visit some hofjes, old hidden courtyards that are a real travel in time.  After cycling over Prinsen island and Bickers island, a really old area, nicely restored and, despite being relatively centrally located, really peaceful, you will go really local. A ferry will take you to to Amsterdam Noord and this is the most fun part for us! There, we can visit new projects that are taking place in this completely different, spacious and old industrial area in our city. We visit the NDSM, an old wharf which nowadays hosts the most creative design and art projects in the city, surrounded by cool cafes and restaurants, we will choose one of them to have a well deserved drink while being amused by the view over the city.

Tom is charismatic and a wealth of knowledge on his home town and it was an absolute bonus that he is a professional photographer and not only able to show us Amsterdam’s hidden secrets but to also give us a photo memento of our cycle tour was just above and beyond.
